Imagine A World, Not So Very Different From Our Own…

Where men turn into Were-Tacos in the moonlight, only to wreak havoc upon the clown filled country-side. Where hippies, frat boys and pirates war for the control of the mysterious island of mystery. Where men can be judged by not the amount of cash they have, but by the amount of meat in their pants (meat is the currency). Where an Adventurer is You!

Kingdom of Loathing is a free Semi-Single Player online web game that focuses heavily on parodical and satirical humour. Your quest is to free King Ralph XI from the Naughty Sorceress’ clutches. Every item description, quest, attack message and quest is either a joke, a reference or both.

You the player, after choosing one of the 6 classes to play and going through the short tutorial (you’re guided by the Toot Oriole), go around the fair kingdom and kick the crap out of monsters for meat and items. You can buy skills with your meat, skills such Disco Power Nap, Double Fisted Skull Smashing and Pastamancery. Adventuring around takes “adventures” or turns, that you get 40 a day to use at your discretion. You can also drink lots of booze and eat food to get more.

Once you get past the whole simply “Freeing the King” aspect of the game, you’ll find a very complex put together system that has you playing through the game many times with voluntary restrictions, having things be different each time, and trying overall to obtain more skills and rewards for doing so. Leaderboards, pvp, and clan warfare all exist as well.

If you like to read quite a bit, and like funny things, then Kingdom of Loathing is for you. Oh and here’s the trailer for the documentary on it.

No extra freebie link this week sadly, seems there’s not many new and exciting things being released, probably due to Brawl.

  1. Sounds awesome. I’ll have a look at it tomorrow. I live in GMT+1 so it’s pretty late here.

  2. Very good game, but I have a tendency to forget about it.

  3. Gave the game a try.

    It’s great.
