Hello all, this is your neighborhood (soon-to-be) English teacher Bakuryu. I spend the majority of my days on Youtube searching through comments for the most poorly written crap this side of the English language. As is the wont of an English teacher, I will try and correct the mistakes make by the author. Youtube English lesson after the jump

Today I ventured into an Avril Lavigne video, as her fan base isn’t really known for intelligence, when I found this little nugget:

“HEY HEY have u noticed? like in every videoclip from the best damn thing she wears wigs. except for when youre gone which happens to be the only «emotional» song. like in girlfriend: redhead and the brunette, in hot: the ice blond bangs and in the best damn thing: the really cute pink wig.
she s adorable i lvoe her. this video is SICKKKK”

I read this comment, threw up a little, and decided to rewrite it. Here is my version of the same comment:

“HEY HEY Have you noticed? In every video from the album ‘The Best Damn Thing’ she wears wigs, except for in ‘When You’re Gone’ which happens to be the only emotional song. In ‘Girlfriend’, she wears both a redhead and a brunette wig. In ‘Hot’, she wears the wig with ice blond bangs. In ‘The Best Damn Thing’, she wears the really cute pink wig. She’s adorable, I love her, and this video is sick!”

I forgave the “HEY HEY” in the beginning as those words are repeated throughout the video. The problems I fixed were: capitalization, punctuation, sentence structure, clarified some things, and added in the apostrophes. I’d tell you everything I changed, but I don’t feel like typing for an hour. Now we can stand to read his comment. Also, I didn’t post a link to the video for your own sake. You are welcome world.

  1. While I was amused by the comment, you could have found much worse. :/

  2. Could have, but I was lazy. I settled for the first thing I could get my hands on.

  3. Youtube is like free treasure.
