EVO 2008 Started Today.

EVO, the longest running fighting game tournament in the world, started this morning at 9:00 A.M. The games running are: Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike, Capcom Vs. SNK 2, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, And Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. Jump for more win.

Also special this year are the chances to play the latest versions of Blazblue, Street Fighter 4, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix, and Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom. If your not familiar with the name Tatsuknoko, these are the fine folks who brought us Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, Speed Racer,  Macross, Neon Genesis Evangelon (with co-production from Gainax,) among others. This may sound like an odd mixup, but check it out for yourself before judging.

It looks to be in the same vein as Marvel Vs. Capcom, and is looking fine indeed. I am patrolling for EVO news, because I am looking forward to the awesome skill that is always shown at EVO. More information as it becomes available. For now, enjoy a parry demonstration video.
