A day roundup of other sites.

I guess I do this so often, I might as well make it a feature (I need a cool name).

Alright! It’s back! My featuring post about anime you’ll hate or enjoy. Let’s start this week on a good note and talk about anime that I really enjoyed and hope you did too.The only change I’ll have in this new and reborn Jerkpop is, I think I should try and get through the new anime first before going through the old ones. No, seriously, anime I was reviewing in the old posts were at least two seasons old.
Right then, since this Jerkpop is ‘new’, I think I’ll restart the count from #1 again. Note that the numbers doesn’t mean anything other than just a count. Aka, not ranking.
Anime I enjoy watching #1: Natsume Yuujinchou

“Natsume Takashi has the ability to see spirits, which he has long kept secret. However, once he inherits a strange book that belonged to his deceased grandmother, Reiko, he discovers the reason why spirits surround him. Containing the names of these spirits, a binding contract was formed between the spirits and the owner of the book. Now, Natsume is determined to free the spirits and dissolve the contracts. With the help of a spirit cat, his days are filled trying to return the names to these spirits.” -ANN
Alright then, a hero that can see spirits and keeps it a secret. Inherited some item from his ancestor that has some great power and every spirit in town wants it. Where have I heard of a plot line like this? Hmm…hard call. Perhaps just about every other anime. However, that’s only on the surface. The whole plot line wasn’t enough to make me watch it when it first came out, and it wasn’t until TubeOxen bothered me enough telling me to watch it that I did.
However, when I actually got around to watch it. Oh boy. First of all, I have to clarify. The story is not as cliche as it sounds, even though the structure of it is. Natsume doesn’t stand out at all, he doesn’t give of the ‘protagonist’ aura at all. He is completely normal, and you get the feeling that he could be someone your neighbour is. The main focus of this anime is actually tracing back to his grandmother, Reiko. The story actually focuses on Natsume discovering Reiko’s past little by little through meeting the spirits his grandmother once met.
As said before, Reiko; Natsume’s grandmother, plays a great part in this anime. She doesn’t have much presence either, seeing as how the only time the audience sees her is from a flashback. However, this is exactly what makes this anime interesting. You see the view of the spirits from Natsume, and you also see what Reiko sees of the spirits. It’s the same anime, with two flavor.
The art style of this anime gives off a traditional Japan view for some odd reason. Although still very anime, you also feel that it is very traditional Japanese. The animation budget doesn’t feel skimped either, although a few frames might be reused, they are generally high quality.
The music is where this anime really stands out. Every BGM gives off a really easy feeling, it puts you into a relaxed state. As with the art style, each piece of music gives off a heavy Japan taste to it. You forget your normal day troubles when you watch this anime thanks to the music, and you would want each episode to last longer. You would feel that each episode is very long because of the slow pace this anime goes at.
What makes this anime so good, however, isn’t something I can explain through words. There is a certain X factor that makes everyone I know fall in love with it. So even if my review doesn’t give you the motivation to go see this anime right away, give it a try anyways.
Alright! That’s it for now. I was going to review Eve no Jikan as well, but I decided that I should put that off because I’ve only watched one episode so far. It’d be more fair to review after watching another one or two episodes. (Even though the whole series will ONLY have 6 episodes…) That’s it for now, have a great time watching Natsume Yuujinchou (or named as Natsume Yūjin-Chō).

So, a little background info here, I wasn’t looking for anything similar. I was in fact, just looking for a picture of Natsume Yuujinchou to fit on my other post that I’m posting right now. Then this came up.

While at Otakon, I picked up a couple games. When I got back, I used my abilities to borrow another game. Check em out.

Regular visitors to the Japanator IRC channel will know that I’m always seemingly getting tangled up with a few individual females. So, in consideration of that, I’ve opened a new little feature of myself that will have me introducing my favourite females of all time. Of course, by female, I don’t mean the ones I get tangled up with. Who I actually mean are random celebrities…most likely from Japan or other parts of Asia as I hardly care much for the English culture. (Harsh, I know.)
Right right, enough of me rambling on. Let’s get started, shall we?
Let’s start with a little game then, all the pictures below will be common in something. No, the answer is not that they are all anime girls.

(From left to right: Lenalee [D-gray man], Tamaki [To Heart 2], Boota [Gurren Lagann], Rei[Marimite], Wilhelmina [Shakugan no Shana], Akiha [Tsukihime], Himawari [xxxHolic])
Again, no. The answer isn’t that they are all anime girls…or anime character. *Looks at Boota…*
If you don’t know the answer, congratulations; you still have a life.
People with a sense of logic could deduce that I’m talking about a seiyuu. (For those not very Japanese literate, Seiyuu = Voice actor.) People who are my kind would know that the answer is indeed. Itō Shizuka.
Why is she one of my favourite female of all time? Well, find out after the jump.

I would have totally made this post yesterday, but the yerkpod re-recording tied me up…so here it is now.

I originally watched Axia play this game for several hours and found it really enjoyable to watch. This is probably one of the only games I can say this about. So, after I had the ability to borrow games, I decided to try out Mass Effect on the Xbox 360. Yes, 1080i is pretty and yes, 5.1 surround sound is awesome. That does not help this game one bit. The gameplay feels like a plastic $5 airsoft gun compared to an actual $600 gun. Nasty and gross!
Continuing my story down here… days later, I broke down and bought the PC version on promises of better graphics and a better mid-game ability system. They delivered on their promise, also nailing the gameplay with the keyboard and mouse. The game feels so much better and focused on the PC.
I’ll spend more time with it, and give the full assesment after I finish (could be a while).
That’s a picture of my crew and myself hangin out at the citadel.

Every so often, i will surf the trenches of youtube, and find, just for you, the most… failfulled people that exist on the series of tubes we all call home. Here is Waluigi’sGirl. I can’t take credit for this, because I found her on ED some time ago, and some of you have probably seen it at this point, but she/he/it
s A Class material, so please enjoy.
Scientists around the world are still trying to figure out what gender this here thing is, all I know is DO NOT WANT.
Srsly though, just camera angles you guys.

Last night while prowling about on the internetz, I came across a video that can even melt the heart of Satan. Do you know how seriously bad ass such a video would have to be? Do you? Watch this video. Be amazed at the cuteness. BE AMAZED! By the way, I watched and listened to this video for almost an hour. Over and over and OVER. Stig-san has seen it a few times himself. If some of you cold hearted bastards suddenly want to hug puppies, do not blame it on me. BLAME IT ON CLANNAD AND DANGO DANGO AND POKEMANS!!

I haven’t done a Yaranaika in a while, so please enjoy. We have a theme this time, as all the shops are of Phoenix Wright / Apollo justice characters, which we have quite a few fans of on the site, so please enjoy.

On September 5th, 2007 Apple INC. released the 3rd Generation iPod Nano to the public. Consumers everywhere were either stoked about the new design, and applauded the support for video and games, or hated it altogether. On the iPod Nano came iQuiz preinstalled, a functional little quiz show like game that asked questions about songs or albums that are on it. The 3rd generation so far is the best generation of the iPod Nano as Apple poured plenty of time and money into working out all of the kinks of the last two generations. Some were upset to note that the Nano’s do not use FireWire to synch or charge, but USB now. This makes it easier for Windows users as FireWire is a format of lines that has died on non-Mac PCs.
