Have any interest in trying for the 3rd or 4th time?

So, perusing the forums for Ohayocon, in particular the cosplay thread. There was the usual Soul Eater, Phoenix Wright, Bleach, Naruto, but I have to wonder what the hell is Twilight doing in there?! I’m personally not a fan of the series (because of Stephanie Meyer’s terrible writing not because of the series’ popularity). I try to refrain from bashing it because I know so many people love it, and I don’t wish to die a painful death via rabid fangirls.

However, I cannot understand why the hell anyone would consider “cosplaying” as Twilight characters at an ANIME CON. THERE’S NO COSTUME INVOLVED! Okay, fangs and if you wanna go all out, contact lenses–boom! you’re a vampire. If you’re gonna be a werewolf in wolf form, I could possibly accept that; but for me, it’s not much different from a werewolf Halloween costume. And who’s going to be one anyway? Everyone’s going to either be Bella or Edward or one of his vampire relatives. How can expect anyone to recognize you as one of the characters when you’re wearing regular clothes? You could try replicating the outfits from the movie, but those aren’t any different from your own clothes.

Cosplay for me is distinctly looking like someone other than yourself, particularly a character from a game, anime, manga, or some other Japanese culture. Twilight does not fit into any of those categories. Of all the people you could cosplay as, why the hell would you choose to look like some uncreative, normal looking person from Twilight? And how would you “characterize” them besides going around being e-mo? Actually, what I really want to know is how you go around “dazzling” people? I may have just condemned myself writing this post, but oh well.

So I want you guys’ opinion: Do you think Twilight is a legitimate cosplay? Who would you rather see at an anime con: Darth Vader or a Twilight character? Why?

Take heed to Mccain’s concession speech, and help out President Obama, because it’s all about America in the end.

Finally having a spare moment from grad school and due to Kuro’s incessant whining, I went in search of things to post (namely youtube videos). Plus, I feel like I should try and balance out the mass amounts of testosterone on the site. So here’s an interesting and pretty amusing cosplay video.

Look, I promise we’re not dead. Unfortunately, it seems 90% me and Kuro now (80% Kuro), but I promise it’ll change soon. I’ve been struck with a crazy amount of obligations I have to see to for my graduate program. I promise it’ll be over soon, just a few more tutoring sessions and classroom observations. In other news, the kid I’m tutoring says today, “I like things like… don’t tell my mom… Bleach, Naruto, and Yu-Gi-Oh. His mother has powerful faith, and thusly won’t let this kid read anything manga related. Sad day. We’ll be reading manga in our tutoring sessions from now on, as it’s what really engages him.

The three of you who view this site may have noticed that there is less posting as of late. Do not worry. School has restarted, and many of us are tied up with that. Also, many awesome games have come out recently. Which brings me to my point: I’ll be posting a few reviews, and some catch-up items soon. Included are Infinite Undiscovery, Tales of Vesperia, Spore (once I finally get around to playing it), and then just random nerdy news. There’ll be many more after I bitch-slap some of the other writers with my textual pimp hand.

Ok so The Jonas Brothers. We all know how popular they are now. Disney wanted Hannah Montana in boy band form, thus The Jonas Brothers were born. I think Walter is convulsing in his grave. I don’t understand why every girl between the ages of 9 and Fuck You loves them. I also don’t understand why they love Destiny Hope Cyrus, its not Miley damnit, so much either. Honestly, is there a single person with a penis out there that likes either?

Anywho, I’ve never actually heard their music, maybe their as talented as The Beatles (or Miyavi for you Weeaboo types, though Miyavi might be a more accurate comparison). They are mega popular, which also reminds me, there is a percent of people out there that absolutely hate The Jonas Brothers. Infact, some even call them the “Homo Brothers”. God, how phucking clever. I don’t hate The Jonas Brothers though, why should I? Infact, I have a different theory about them all together. I think Hanson got some plastic surgery, dyed and cut their hair, and Viola! The Jonas Brothers.

Oh god.
