I should explain, Bakuryu’s description of being ‘asian’ simply means I got a few diploma exams going on this week. That aside, I would like to ask a little question. Just how many actually read this blog? Anyone who reads, tag a comment, will ya? Just for my own curiosity sake. Oh, and I guess I’ll post a video of what I found on the internet this week.

About the video: I’m sure those of you who visited this site before remembers the zombies dancing to anime op videos I’ve posted before. (If you don’t, the youtube widget on the side of the page has it every so often.) Well, here’s another one! They actually have quite a fanbase, as they are able to perform live at Waseda Univeristy Festival!

If we are honest, Jerkpop is anything but serious. Today however, things will take a little change. Mainly because I feel like writing something random today and through my email box is afterdawn’s newsletter. What caught my eye only really matters to Canadians, and here’s the original article.

Basically, to sum it up in one big sentence. The Canadian government are now holding secret talks with various lobby groups who will be benefiting from tougher copyright laws and shutting out all media as well as lobby groups that tends to get in the way but have a valid point. (Aka: Telecommunications, Privacy, etc.)

Canada, I thought, was a free and rather laid back country. Though, looking at this, maybe not so much. If readers out there don’t really understand what the problem with these kind of secret talks are, here’s the break down of why this is a bad topic to discuss in secret. First of all, these talks will almost certainly step over the bounds of simple copyright as it will also touch on snooping on all incoming and outgoing traffics of your internet. Also, there’s also the whole shabam about companies bugging your bluray player or what not just to see what movies you are watching. Basically, in a couple tens of years, Metal Gear Solid will happen. For those of you that don’t play the game, it means we are all going to be screwed over because a elite group will control many aspects of our life in the shadows.

Will Snake be there to save us when this happens?

It was Topless Robot (with delicious news on the long-discussed, never-sold Goonies sequel) who turned my attention to these Goonies-themed sneakers from Puma.

Now, Puma is not a brand I’m generally likely to wear in the first place. And, come on, sneakers? Am I some kind of six-year-old or something?

Apparently the answer is yes, because some deep, dark, sad, Goonies-deprived part of me screams: OH GOD YES! Mostly because they come in a drawstring pirate bag, which I bet I would use more than the actual shoes. And they’ll probably be stupidly expensive when they go on sale in December, too. Phooey!

Surprise! I wonder if they forgot that I still have posting rights?

Anyway, I have to tell you: I do not consider myself a Whedonite. I’ve been content to watch a handful of Buffy the Lesbinator or whatever it was called here and there, but never sought it out. Friends have introduced me to Firefly, which again was fun but not something that inspired me to run out and acquire the DVDs to devour.

But then something different happened. Something…horrible. Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, to be exact.

Now, again, as a non-Whedonite I came upon it somewhat late, after the official run of the first three acts of the mini-musical was over (a fourth and I believe final act is in the works). But friends plied me with it, and like a cheap wine, it was mildly, comfortably intoxicating (and not too harmful to my wallet).

But Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog isn’t just incredibly entertaining (especially if you’re the kind of person who likes to, y’know, sing along): it’s an awesome marketing tactic. The episodes were free (for a limited time), and yes, people are passing around all three acts like crazy. But Whedon funded the entire production himself, which has the handy effect of making people want to pay for it to make sure that all the people who created it– who provided entertainment –are rewarded for it. HOW CRAZY IS THAT?

Already t-shirts are up on J!nx, where the Dr. Horrible twitter says there will be additional merch in the near future. And a DVD is in the works with “amazing” extras, including video auditions from fans to enter the Evil League of Evil (Dr. Horrible’s favored villain union) and a musical commentary. Yes, a musical. commentary. Oh, and the episodes are up on iTunes and Hulu for those who missed the original run.

So I implore those of you who may have already illicitly enjoyed the show to go and do so legally, so that we might encourage this kind of insanity in the future. Also, My Little Horrible. Mwahaha.

According to this article at Inventorspot, this underground restaurant makes its customers pay up a hefty fee to be a member. Once you are a member, you can…well, violate an animal of your choice then have it killed, cooked, and served to you on the dinner table.

I do realize this is old news, but I am just finishing out some of the posts saved in the archive from before the site died.

Security cameras are always there, watching you, just in case you decide to do something “illegal” or “hilarious” that people might want to see.  Those with a want to go and do something illegal near or to a security camera, rejoice.  One ballon can ruin this camera’s fun.

Originally, this was meant as an art piece (whatever), but the practicality is there.

I was thinking originally that I’d write a review on Final Fantasy IV or Xam’d: Lost Memories (seriously, watch it), but I’m too tired to type out a long, thought filled article.
