If these words intrigue you, you might just want to check out Battle Fantasia, soon to be released on the Xbox 360 this September. If you like your games a little slower and more methodical than Guilty Gear or Street Fighter, this game looks less fast paced and more suited to ground battles and quick combos. It looks to borrow a few pages from RPG’s as well, seeing as it incorporates Hit Points and character style ripped from a story book. I’m looking out for this one. Seeing as I got off my lazy ass and got a job, I might actually buy this.
As much as I state it, I love fighting games. But one thing in particular has always bothered me. I have always leaned toward the 2d realm of fighters. 3d is is fun, but I grew up on a steady diet of Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Samurai Showdown, etc. (Never jumped on the Mortal Kombat bandwagon.) I honestly thought the days of a 2d revival were a faint and dying hope. Soul Calibur, Tekken, Virtua Fighter was where everyone else was. Then I see the announcement for Street Fighter 4. NOT a rumor. NOT a on a developers wish list. Honest to god new Street Fighter. Good stuffs after the jump.
There are just certain things that go well together. Peanut butter and jelly. Cheeseburgers and bacon. Maximum the Hormone and Guilty Gear. Yes that is RIGHT. Guilty Gear is an excellent fighting game and Maximum the Hormone has seizures while playing. What’s not to love? Close your eyes, hope you don’t explode from excitement, and jump.
